	Training and support Many local planning authorities have difficulty with design issues and the evaluation of outcomes of their planning services.  Often they have insufficient expertise and resources to evaluate the design of proposals in front of them and understand their implications, particularly in the short timescales allowed for the determination of planning and listed building applications. I can offer: on-site training packages for planning staff and elected members on design, heritage issues, design and access statements and affordable housing.  These can be tailor-made to suit the nature and experience of the group.  With up to 15 participants, they can represent much better value for money than off-site training events. the development of methods for the evaluation of planning outcomes and training for staff and elected members on their use. the setting up of arrangements for architectural and conservation area advisory panels. support for Design and Heritage Champions, including setting up training and work programmes. training on the interpretation and use of design and access statements for local planning authorities.
